Jobs & economy

Alongside the physical improvements to the site there will be substantial economic and social benefits as a result of Prologis’ multi-million pound investment.

As a long-term owner for the site, we’re committed to re-energising this economic asset and making Prologis Park Luton a success long into the future.

We will be creating approximately 540 new jobs on site in growing sectors, such as logistics, and attracting new businesses to the area while providing modern high-quality space for businesses in Luton who may wish to relocate. Bringing back businesses to the site will bring back high-quality jobs for local people.

Skills & training

At Prologis, we’re also passionate about equipping young and local people with the skills and training to help them into valuable career paths.

Phase 2 of the development includes the provision of a “Hub” building, which will enable local people to gain the skills, knowledge and competences required to work in the logistics sector, bringing a range of economic and employment-related opportunities to the borough.

The Prologis Warehousing and Logistics Training Programme (PWLTP) was established as part of the global Prologis Community Workforce Initiative (CWI), which aims to equip 25,000 individuals with the skills necessary for jobs in transportation, distribution and logistics by the end of 2025.

We have ambitions to create training and skills opportunities as part of our plans in Luton, as we are doing at other sites such as DIRFT in Daventry, Northamptonshire.
